The temperature and precipitation figures are generated around 11:00
am Central Time each day. The snow maps are generated around 9:00
a.m. each day The source of the data for
these maps comes from the U.S. Cooperative Network, augmented by observations
from the relatively small number of NWS sites. These cooperative sites
are operated by volunteer observers using approved instruments and
observing techniques. It is only through their efforts that we have
enough data to generate these maps
