A Quiet Week

The second week of May was quiet with many areas relatively dry, temperatures near normal, and no severe weather in the Midwest. Farmers were able to keep ahead of normal planting schedules for both corn and soybeans. Details are in the May 14th edition of the Midwest Climate Watch.

The Midwestern Regional Climate Center (MRCC) is a cooperative program of the Illinois State Water Survey and the National Climatic Data Center (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S, Department of Commerce).

The MRCC is a partner in a national climate service program that includes the National Climatic Data Center, Regional Climate Centers, and State Climate Offices.

The Illinois State Water Survey is a division of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
